Lesson from Pacquiao's lost to Bradley

When life seems to be unfair , what will you do?

If you are in Pacquiao's situation what will you do?

Let us relate this with a great man in the Bible. His name is Joseph, one of the sons of Israel. He was hated by his own brothers. At first, his brothers attempted to kill him but later on they just decided to sold him to be a slave. Then he had been taken down to Egypt and Potiphar, an Egyptian who was one of Pharaoh’s officials, the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there. Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned. Because Joseph was handsome and was well-built, Potiphar's wife spoke to Joseph day after day to go in bed with her. But Joseph refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.

You know what is the reward of Joseph's faithfulness?
He was being imprisoned!

Why all these need to happen?
If you are in Joseph's feet/situation, what will you do?
Will you still be faithful to God?

Go ask and evaluate yourself honestly, how are you responding to your life's challenges right now ? Does life seems to be unfair to you?

....Selah...

The World's 2nd Best Friend

Hi! I just want you to smile a little bit, but hope you still got the message for today!

What message? Well, if this dog is claiming and admitting that he is only the world's 2nd best friend, I'm hoping that you also believe truly in your heart that Jesus Christ is the World's no.1 Best Friend!  Is that an Amen?

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends -John 15:13. And our Lord Jesus Christ did it, He lay down His life for you, for me and for all humanity...the true best friend. We are so privilege because He is not only our King and our brother but a true best friend as well.

So if you feel all alone today...that is not true.
If you feel abandoned by everybody...that is not true.
If you feel that no one is loving or understands you...that is not true because we have Jesus...our true best friend who is always here for us.

In Christ,

Blessing in disguise

As I was preparing to go for work this morning, my daughter is watching “Phineas and Ferb” and one of the scene caught my attention !

By the way, to give you some background, according to our friend wikipedia : “Phineas and Ferb is an American animated television comedy-musical series. Originally broadcast as a preview on August 17, 2007, and officially premiered on February 1, 2008 on Disney Channel, the series follows Phineas Flynn and his English stepbrother Ferb Fletcher on summer vacation. Every day, the boys embark on some grand new project, which annoys their controlling sister,Candace, who frequently tries to reveal their shenanigans to her and the boys' mother”.

As I was saying, this scene caught my attention: (I just illustrate it through words, please try to imagine), Phineas and Ferb build that day a giant structure/machine  wherein there are lots of challenges or traps inside, their objective is to prove to their friends that they can go outside that structure alive in just 15 minutes. They were inspired by escape artists / magicians who do the same tricks. But the big problem was the program of this structure/machine that they  built was malfunctioned. This machine created an unbreakable  force field which goes larger and larger and larger until  it covers the whole Earth! The good news is, on that instance,  there are attacking aliens who will invade Earth, but the “force field” that was caused by the malfunction of the machine’s program which are created by Phineas and Ferb prevented the attacking aliens to do so, what a blessing in disguise!

The lesson I want to share is that our problems or challenges in life, although difficult, faith disturbing and overwhelming at that time, had a very significant role to do in our lives or even to other people…a big blessing in disguise!  Maybe we can’t understand at that moment why is that happening or why it should happen, but as long as we trust God and persevere, there is a big blessing behind that big problem! So every time problems or challenges come, be thankful about it, ask God for strength to overcome and wisdom to learn the lesson He wants to teach us.

As the Bible says in James 1:2-6 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.”

Have a blessed day!

In Christ,
Chris Timoteo de Guzman

God's Amazing Love for Us

This is a story of a bridge master who sacrifices his own son's life just to save the passengers of the train.
Hope this video can show you how amazing is God's love for us. He sacrificed His beloved Son Jesus Christ just to save you and me.

WHAT GOD CAN DO WITH 57 CENTS AND A PURE HEART...

I was inspired by this story wherein a 57 cents  love offering of a child became the way to build a 3,300 seater church,a university,a hospital and a sunday school building. Please read the full story below...

Story: The 57 Cent Church

A little girl stood near a small church from which she had been turned away because it was 'too crowded.'

'I can't go to Sunday School,' she sobbed to the pastor as he walked by.

Seeing her shabby, unkempt appearance, the pastor guessed the reason and, taking her by the hand, took her inside and found a place for her in the Sunday school class. The child was so happy that they found room for her, and she went to bed that night thinking of the children who have no place to worship Jesus.

Some two years later, this child lay dead in one of the poor tenement buildings. Her parents called for the kindhearted pastor who had befriended their daughter to handle the final arrangements.

As her poor little body was being moved, a worn and crumpled red purse was found which seemed to have been rummaged from some trash dump.

Inside was found 57 cents and a note, scribbled in childish handwriting, which read: 'This is to help build the little church bigger so more children can go to Sunday School.'

For two years she had saved for this offering of love.

When the pastor tearfully read that note, he knew instantly what he would do. Carrying this note and the cracked, red pocketbook to the pulpit, he told the story of her unselfish love and devotion.

He challenged his deacons to get busy and raise enough money for the larger building.

But the story does not end there...

A newspaper learned of the story and published It It was read by a wealthy realtor who offered them a parcel of land worth many thousands.

When told that the church could not pay so much, he offered to sell it to the little church for 57 cents.

Church members made large donations. Checks came from far and wide.
Within five years the little girl's gift had increased to $250,000.00--a huge sum for that time (near the turn of the century). Her unselfish love had paid large dividends.

When you are in the city of Philadelphia , look up Temple Baptist Church , with a seating capacity of 3,300. And be sure to visit TempleUniversity, where thousands of students are educated.

Have a look, too, at the Good Samaritan Hospital and at a Sunday School building which houses hundreds of beautiful children, built so that no child in the area will ever need to be left outside during Sunday school time.

In one of the rooms of this building may be seen the picture of the sweet face of the little girl whose 57 cents, so sacrificially saved, made such remarkable history. Alongside of it is a portrait of her kind pastor, Dr. Russell H. Conwell, author of the book, 'Acres of Diamonds'.

This is a true story, which goes to show WHAT GOD CAN DO WITH 57 CENTS.

Just Five More Minutes

While at the park one day, a woman sat down next to a man on a bench near a playground.

“That’s my son over there,” she said, pointing to a little boy in a red sweater who was gliding down the slide.

“He’s a fine looking boy” the man said. “That’s my daughter on the bike in the white dress.”

Then, looking at his watch, he called to his daughter. “What do you say we go, Melissa?”

Melissa pleaded, “Just five more minutes, Dad. Please? Just five more minutes.”

The man nodded and Melissa continued to ride her bike to her heart’s content. Minutes passed and the father stood and called again to his daughter. “Time to go now?”

Again Melissa pleaded, “Five more minutes, Dad. Just five more minutes.”

The man smiled and said, “OK.”

“My, you certainly are a patient father,” the woman responded.

The man smiled and then said, “Her older brother Tommy was killed by a drunk driver last year while he was riding his bike near here. I never spent much time with Tommy and now I’d give anything for just five more minutes with him. I’ve vowed not to make the same mistake with Melissa.

She thinks she has five more minutes to ride her bike. The truth is, I get Five more minutes to watch her play.”

Life is all about making priorities, what are your priorities? Give someone you love 5 more minutes of your time today!

What matters most in your life?

Hope we paused for a while and let us reconsider this truth about priorities...

"Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. They are WORK, FAMILY, HEALTHFRIENDS and SPIRIT and your you're keeping all of these in the air.

You will soon understand that WORK is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - FAMILY, HEALTHFRIENDS and SPIRIT are made of glass. If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same.

You must understand that and strive for it"
